Why Is It Impossible To Win A War In Afghanistan

War is one of the most horrible things that could happen to a country, state, or region, as there is always so much to lose and absolutely nothing to gain. War just causes death, destruction of properties, and stress and trauma to soldiers.

We sure commend all the soldiers out there who are fighting for their country, but one set of soldiers that can’ t go unnoticed are the United States soldiers sent to Afghanistan to defeat the Taliban and restore peace and order to Afghanistan. Though we can’ t exactly say when these soldiers were deployed to Afghanistan to fight against the Taliban, we sure know it has been quite a long time, permitting me to say it is well overdue.

The Taliban are extremely hard and dangerous people to ever want to fight with, as they are not one to give up easily, and they have also taken over a large part of Afghanistan, including the very best parts, thus making the war against the Taliban bloody and extremely difficult.

When Did This War Start? . . .

When was the American army deployed there? . . .

Why has it been so difficult to defeat the Taliban and free Afghanistan? . . .

Let’ s look at all these.

When Did The War In Afghanistan Begin?

The War in Afghanistan ultimately began in the year 2001, on October 7th, 2001, to be precise, when Afghanistan was invaded and attacked by the United States of America alongside its allies after the 9/11 or the 11th September incident, when the terrorist Islamic group which goes by the name Al- Qaeda launched an attack on the United States of America on the 11th of September 2001, killing over 3, 000 victims, including a few of the al- Qaeda members, and leaving about 25, 000 casualties.

It was reported that 4 of America’ s mid- flight were hijacked by this terrorist group and flown into different parts of America to cause mass destruction and death. The first airline was said to have flown into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. A few minutes later, the South Tower was The west side of the Pentagon was the third place that was hit, and the last flight, Flight 93, was initially flown to hit Washington, D. C. But the passengers were able to gain control for a while and directed the plane to an open field beside Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

This was one of America’ s most tragic events, and when it was learned that the mastermind behind all these was the Al- Qaeda group led by the famous terrorist Osama bin Laden, the United States of America immediately led its troops after the deadly terrorists. And that was when the Afghanistan war began.

This war between Afghanistan and the United States of America, which came to an end in 2021, was said to have lasted for years and 8 months, making it the longest war America has ever had to fight in history.

Who Was Osama Bin Laden?

Bin Laden was born in Saudi Arabia on the 10th of March 1957 and died on the 2nd of May 2011 in Pakistan, the famous terrorist Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Ladin, simply and famously referred to as ” Osama Bin Laden” , was the founder and leader of the famous pan- Islamic group ” Al- Qaeda” . He was said to have succeeded Ayman Al- Zawahiri and is famously known for being the mastermind behind the 11th September event in America.

Why Is It Impossible To Win A War In Afghanistan?

Afghanistan, over the years, has become a famous country known for its constant war and battles. These days, you can even see movies of soldiers being sent to Afghanistan to fight, as well as a glimpse of what it’ s like to witness war in Afghanistan.

Now we know that America is not the only country that has gone to war with Afghanistan. The Soviet Union and other powerful countries have also gone to war with this country and still have been unable to defeat it. Most people will think that the United States of America, after waging a war against Afghanistan for 19 years, would have overpowered and won, but that is not the case at all. And this has caused lots of questions as to why winning a war against Afghanistan is impossible, and here is why.

First, any country going into war with Afghanistan should have it at the back of their mind that they are not going against the people of the country alone but also with the Taliban, who are, to an extent, large in number and extremely influential, so to speak, as they have great support and supplies. Secondly, the Taliban occupy a large and remote part of Afghanistan and have more knowledge about Afghanistan, are familiar with lots of places in Afghanistan and these reasons give them an upper hand in their battle against any country that wages war in Afghanistan.

Permit me to add that the Taliban are powerful and know different parts and roots of Afghanistan, which gives them a higher opportunity to be able to set traps, ambush, or even launch an attack on other opposing countries.

The Taliban tend to be defeated if they are allowed to wage war anywhere else but not Afghanistan.
